    Doolin Does Weaves!

A picture and comment from Dave and Sylvia in Mendon, MA…

“Our experience with your company so far has been great. We ordered a set of competition weave poles for our Border Collie, Doolin. We used to use driveway reflectors as make-shift poles for a few weeks; so yours were a tremendous upgrade!

Here is a picture of Doolin after a few days with your poles.”

brittanydogToday, an AgilityFusion members shares their story,

“After our 14 year old German Shepherd passed on, we decided that we would look for another dog.  We started by viewing dogs on the internet.  We finally hit on Buddy Dog in Sudbury.  There was the cutest dog, white with black spots, with black ears and face, and she had the energy of a greyhound.  They let us take her for a walk on the property and she stole our hearts.  Her name was Bella, but we changed it to Brittany which means freckled or spotted in Gaelic.  Brittany is a Border Collie mix.  She was one year old when we got her and she is now three.

Because of her immense energy, we decided to try her at agility.  We started training at Gemini Dogs in Littleton.  This is our first experience with Agility, so all three of us are learning together. “   - By Sharon & Scott Henderson

buddyteeterYou may remember the original story of Buddy, a timid rescued Sheltie owned by Carolotta Trevino:    Well, Carlotta recently sent an update on Buddy, which I have posted below.   It’s great to hear how he is learning more confidence by doing agility!

“Hi everybody at Agility Fusion!   Buddy and I went to our first competition this summer! I must say its a BLAST! Our first competition we entered the obedience division and I was very surprised at Buddy’s performance, he did very well until it was time to stand for examination, when the judge began to put her hand on him, he wanted nothing to do with that, so we knew what our goal would be for the next time. In the mean time we continued to practice our agility. In our fun class Buddy was very afraid of the teeter so I decided to purchase the practice teeter base from Affordable Agility to help him along, wow what a difference! ! He now sails over the teeter and sometimes just for fun he will run the teeter himself just to show me what he can do. We continued to practice and then decided to enter our second competition, remembering what our goal was . We worked very hard at letting strange people examine him. At the next competition, the judge came up to him, with doubt in his eyes and a little fear in his heart Buddy came through like the little solider that he is and conquered his greatest fear!! My heart just burst with pride for him.

I know that through agility it has given Buddy courage, and a great sense of who he is. We have found agility competitions near our area and intend to go to as many as we can next season. Here is a picture of Buddy and his teeter. Affordable Agility has the best built, quality equipment for your money that will last for a very long time. So keep going, your goals may be short term or not, but just keep pushing! We are having fun!”

remHi Pam, I’m sending AgilityFusion a picture of my 2 year old lab, Remington.  He already has a reputation on the local agility circuit as “Tunnel Man!”  He gets sucked into tunnels, and ends up on his back, and more times then not won’t come out of the tunnel!  He rolls around in there and has a grand ole time.  He never does this at home or practice, but seems to play to the crowd at trials.  Trying to bribe him out with “cookies” worked for a bit, but he’s grown wise to that, (no food on course!)  Now, I simply walk away and don’t say anything, and he’ll pop his head out more quickly to see where I am!!  We finally actually had a perfect run, Q and 1st place at our local AKC trial.  Maybe there’s light at the end of the “tunnel” after all.  This is a picture of him “sliding” out of the tunnel at a CPE trial in Murrell’s Inlet, on his back, four in the air.  What a goober boy he is.   Good thing I have a sense of humor :)
