happy_dog_470x352Agility season is just around the corner! Get in shape and get moving so you’ll be ready when it’s here!  You need to be ready to run when you can see the grass!

Not only is it time to get in shape- it’s also time to start prepping your course for spring and summer, and to start filling out your competition entries.

The contest questions are: What obstacle do you want to update or add to your course? How will it help your dog progress in agility?

To help you get your course on course, we’re offering a prize of a Clean Run Course Source book from Affordableagility.com!  This book will help you figure out how best to challenge your dog and set up your equipment to full effect.

The winner will be selected by a random number generator, and notified via email (providing you are a registered user here).   Deadline is  March. 20 (the first day of official spring!).  Good luck and have fun!

dog20tired20in20grass203The Love-me-hate-me contest is now closed, and we have a winner! Congratulations,  Kathy!  You’ve won three sets of E-Z sacks to help you keep your course in place!

Thanks everybody for participating, and stay tuned here at Agility Fusion for more contest and training tips upcoming!

And the results of the contest… you all love spending time with your dogs, and most of you hate letting them down. Some of the answers made me laugh, and some made me nod in sympathy- for instance, the long wait to get into the ring.  It’s the hardest part of competing.  And the driving… but it’s all worth it, in the end, when your dog grins at you, and you’re off! Then, when you’re done playing agility, the happy tired dog lying at your feet, content with the world is a reward unto itself!  Definitely worth it, don’t you think?

storm20in20weavesYou’ve probably heard the news by now (see one my previous post on the subject) that AKC is slated to announce some changes, including a new weave pole requirement: 24″ weave spacing.  Most people (especially the big dog owners) are in favor of this spine-saving change, and look forward to the official announcement that is supposed to happen in January of 2010.   Others don’t like the idea because it means they need to buy a new set of weave poles.  What do YOU think about it?  Are you concerned or do have any questions? Is this the first time you’ve heard about it?

As a member of Agility Fusion, your opinion on this subject is valuable to me.  To thank you for your time, I would like to give away a free copy of Susan Garret’s popular video “2 x 2’s: 12 Weave Poles in 12 Days“!  This is a $69.95 value!  On Dec. 30th 2009 I’ll randomly pick a winner from the list of comments.  I understand not everyone has a strong opinion, but whatever you can contribute will be helpful, and will qualify you to win.

To post your comment, scroll to the bottom (or click on “comments” button in the upper right corner) and enter it.  It will show up shortly after.  (sometimes it takes a few hours).  Make sure you have registered at least once in the past on this blog site, so we can notify you if you are a winner.

fantasyI know, I keep saying this, but this one is especially great because of all the NEW things that have never been offered on Affordable Agility until now.  Some of them will only be available for this sale, and will not be carried again.  Like… the Doggie Raw-hide Bone Advent Calendar!   Every day in December you pluck off a little bone and give it to your dog!  Even the background tree is edible.   Plus, of course, lots of agility obstacles and accessories, and new books and videos too (including the Agility Course Books, Record Books, and more.)  You can view all the great stuff here.
