FRIDAY FUSION CONTEST…
This contest is now closed, but comments can still be viewed.
If you compete in AKC, USDAA, or CPE, for example, you might not have ever run across any unusual obstacles before. But in some other organizations you might be surprised. Test your knowledge of the agility “para-normal” by answering the following trivia questions! Get all the answers correct and you are eligible to win your choice of any one of Affordable Agility’s hottest (or should I say) coolest obstacles …the Water Obstacles! This is a tough survey, but I hope you’ll give it a try. You never know!
To enter your answers, copy these questions and click on the “comments” button in the upper right corner. Then paste the questions into the comments box. Make sure you have registered in the past before. Winner (and answers) will be announced Monday at 10am. Good luck!

My dog had never seen or been on one until we had a hoopers run! She did fine with it, almost like she had been training on them.
I don’t know if I got all the answers right, but around here there are a few UKC clubs. They do have the strangest obstacles!

But after a little bit of exploration, allowing her to sniff it and tossing a few treats through, she realized it was just another fun thing to jump over. Jumps are definitely her favourite obstacle so far!

answer: Being I’m fairly new at this, and have gone through only one trial, I haven’t run into anything particularly unusual outside of AKC standard equipment. With that in mind, I’d have to answer the tire jump is on the unusual side. My dog preferred jumping through the side of the contraption instead of through the middle.

Sadie has done all the UKC equipment but she absolutely hates the Swing Bridge. She’ll usally go over it once but then forget it! It’s even a struggle while on a lead! So I in my infinite wisdom decided I would show her it was no big deal. After nearly busting my fanny with just one step, with arms flailing and the help of a friend I decided if she only wants to do it once that’s fine with me!!

Jumping over a fallen branch that was blocking our sidewalk after a thunderstorm, just two weeks after starting agility training. She was used to pvc jumps only. When she got to the fallen branch, she stopped and looked up at me. She couldn’t proceed any further. I thought what the heck and gave the jump command, not even knowing if she had internalized that command yet. She promptly jumped, cleared the branch, and landed safely on the other side. I think that’s when I knew I had an agility dog.
